The annual Harbor Cup tournament features 12 Boyne golf professionals against 12 other area pros, with the goal focused on raising money for local charities, as well as some friendly competition. While each side hopes the Cup goes on as long as possible, with the new generations keeping it going to feed the competitive nature of the pros, it's always had a bigger meaning for the community. The Harbor Cup has donated thousands of dollars to The Manna Food Project and First Tee of Northern Michigan charities.
This year's host is Team Boyne at Bay Harbor Golf Club. The public is welcome to come watch and cheer on both teams.
Team Boyne Gets It
"Their significant financial support has improved and strengthened this organization since the beginning. But their moral support is the immeasurable gift that keeps us going. They value our work, and they demonstrate their appreciation, like showing up to help with school visits or even when they just give us a great smile if we run into each other out in the world. I doubt there is another chapter in the entire First Tee network that has a support group of golf pros like Team Boyne."
