BOYNE Golf Awarded Distinguished Golf Destinations Honor

Northern Michigan golf destination earns recognition from BoardRoom magazine and Forbes Travel

Petoskey, MI – BOYNE Golf, one of the largest golf and resort attractions in North America, has been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Golf Destination award, as determined by the Annual Distinguished Golf Destinations award program conducted by BoardRoom magazine in partnership with Forbes Travel Guide.

“On behalf of BoardRoom magazine in partnership with Forbes Travel Guide, we’d like to congratulate BOYNE Golf for earning Distinguished Golf Destination status,” says John Fornaro, publisher of BoardRoom magazine, “Special recognition also goes out to the entire BOYNE Golf staff for their efforts in providing an exceptional golf experience.”

For fine resorts, semi-private, daily fee, and public courses that operate at the highest standards, BoardRoom magazine’s entirely merit-based Distinguished Golf Destinations award program uses a facility-specific rating system that recognizes the facility, its management, and its staff based on a proprietary criteria and validation process that distills and measures a facility’s Exceptional Golf Experience. As such, the rating system used is completely unique, and with it, resorts, semi-private, daily fee, and public courses now have the means to identify the top facilities based on the most important aspect: Exceptional Golf Experience -- that special combination of qualities it provides golfers from service to facilities to staff and management to intangibles.

The Distinguished Golf Destination award is the most prestigious and valuable designation a resort, semi-private, daily fee or public course can achieve. Through this renowned program, BoardRoom magazine has brought its profound knowledge of the golf industry and its extensive study of member experience at private clubs and made it available to resorts, semi-private, daily fee and public courses.

“It’s an absolute honor,” says Bernie Friedrich, Senior Vice President of Golf at BOYNE Resorts. “Everyone in the industry is familiar with how esteemed this list is. And the award validates everything we do here and the steps we take to make BOYNE a top-rated golf resort and destination.”

BOYNE Golf consists of three resort destinations with 10 courses, all within a 45-minute drive of one another. Beyond the world-class golf, Boyne is centered amid one of America’s most beautiful vacation spots. The scenic Lake Michigan beach towns of Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, and Petoskey are minutes away, and a side trip to Mackinac Island is easily managed. Guests can enjoy award-winning spas, waterfront dining, sandy beaches, watersports, gaming, microbreweries, wineries, hiking, biking, tennis, zip-lining, shopping and more capped by the spectacular Northern Michigan sunsets.
